Agile Methods and Data Warehousing: How to Deliver Faster - Kent Graziano
Most people will agree that data warehousing and business intelligence projects take too long to deliver tangible results. Often by the time a solution is in place, the business needs have changed. With all the talk about Agile development methods and Extreme Programming, the question arises as to how these approaches can be used to deliver data warehouse and business intelligence projects faster. This paper will look at the principles behind the Agile Manifesto and see how they might be applied in the context of a data warehouse project. The goal is to determine a method or methods to get a more rapid (2-4 weeks) delivery of portions of an enterprise data warehouse architecture. Real world examples with metrics will be discussed.

If we re lucky, he might even stay on topic.

Data Quality for Imported & ETL Data
Not all the data which must be governed comes from within the enterprise. Much of it is imported from agencies and organizations beyond your control. If your business depends upon this third party data you need to establish a different type of governance or monitoring of that data flow. Even if you cannot control that external source, you can control what you accept into your environment.

Companies who market, sell or service online, or whose entire business is tied to the web, have many things in common. Most notable is that they collect large and constantly growing amounts of data they need to analyze and report on. Understanding customer behavior, segmenting customers for market targeting, assessing the effectiveness of advertising or marketing campaigns, optimizing websites, or a host of other questions may mean the difference between business success and failure.
